When you get in touch

If you email an enquiry, we receive your email address and the information you choose to provide, such as your name, business name, website address and message. Please avoid including sensitive information or confidential customer data.

Why we use it

We use enquiry information to respond, understand your requirements and discuss services you have asked about. Where you ask us to take steps towards a project, this is processing before a contract. Our legitimate interests in responding to business enquiries and protecting the website also apply where appropriate. Sending an enquiry does not subscribe you to a marketing list.

How information is handled

The website is hosted on Cloudflare. Its infrastructure processes technical information such as IP addresses and requests to deliver and protect the site. The contact page offers links to your email app or browser-based email, and an option to copy our address. You review and send the message through your chosen email service. The data licensing enquiry fields prepare an email draft in your browser. They are not sent to Sheepdog by filling them in. When you choose your email app, Gmail or Outlook, the details are included in the draft for you to review and send. The website does not save these fields in browser storage, submit them to an online form service or create an enquiry database.

Cloudflare and email providers may process information outside the UK. Their applicable service terms and transfer arrangements govern that processing. We use your details for the enquiry and related project discussions, and review them when they are no longer needed. Records needed for a later project or legal obligations may be kept for those purposes.

Data licensing discussions

An enquiry does not give us permission to license your business data or use it to train AI. Any later assessment, access or licensing requires a separate agreement covering the data, permitted uses and handling arrangements. Please start with a description of what you hold.

Cookies and analytics

This version of the website does not add advertising cookies, a visitor analytics service or third-party tracking scripts. The website does not store enquiry details in browser storage. Hosting and security services may process technical information needed to operate the website.

Your choices

You can ask us about the information we hold about you, request a correction or deletion, or raise an objection to its use. Other rights, including restriction and portability, may apply depending on the circumstances. Contact sam@sheepdogdata.com to make a request or raise a concern.

You can also raise a data protection concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Changes

We will update this notice if the website’s use of your information changes. The date above identifies this version.
